Mandy Yourick
Mandy Yourick is an artist and educator working in the Southeastern United States. Born and raised along the Florida Gulf Coast, Mandy's artistic journey is influenced by places where the natural and built worlds converge, inquiring how these interactions shape our sense of place and belonging. Her artistic practice is multimedia, including collage, drawing, and ceramics. Much of her work engages with broader themes of creative placemaking and spatial justice, often reflecting on how we inhabit public and private spaces. She studies structures and shelters built both by humans and animals and is curious about how places change over time.
Mandy began formally studying art at Gulf Coast State College and later received her BFA in Studio Art and Art History from Florida State University. Shortly following graduation, she moved to Gunsan, South Korea, and was an artist in residence at the Korea Burn Festival in Gijipo Beach. She later earned her MFA in Visual Art from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She has completed artist residencies at The Bubbler in Madison, Wisconsin, and the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts in Greece.
