Tina Piracci

Tina Piracci is a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where she also researches with the Berkeley National Laboratory. Her research focuses on restorative habitats, water filtration and means of developmental engineering. She has founded a community art studio and prototyping incubator in West Berkeley, where she collaborates with other artists and makers from all over the world and pursues her own artist research and practice. In this space, she offers workshops in creative programming and electronics as well as various experimental product development sessions via digital fabrication.

She acquired a Master of Science in Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley with an emphasis on technology & sustainability, and certificates in Teaching & Education, Remote Learning, as well as New Media. She obtained her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the University of South Florida with a concentration in sculpture / new media, and three minors including: Electrical Engineering, Digital Fabrication and Entrepreneurship. Additionally, she studied abroad at Cite Universitaire in Paris and University College London.

Each of her projects is an experiment as she strives to merge art with technology.
